Mount Pleasant Soccer Association

Mount Pleasant United was formed in the Fall of 2013. Our mission is to provide youth in southeast Iowa an opportunity to enjoy playing a sport that is the number one sport in the world and the fastest growing in the United States.

 

Mount Pleasant United's central focus is on individual player development. It is the coaches belief that as the player develops individually they will bond as a team and bring their talents together resulting in successful play. This is accomplished through proven drills and game play that focuses on skill development disguised as fun activities.

 

Soccer promotes balance, speed, agility and cognitive skills. We believe that soccer is an ideal sport for youth to develop as an athelete no matter what sport(s) the athlete decides to focus on. As with any physical sport, injuries can and do happen in soccer. However, soccer is not a sport where serious injuries are likely due to the rules of soccer prohibiting direct physical contact (other than shoulder to shoulder contact) which makes it ideal for developing young atheletes with minimal risk of serious injuries/concussions.

 

Mount Pleasant United encourages parents to become active participants in all aspects of the game whether it is volunteering as coaches, coaches helpers, referees, fundraising, or just being a positive influence for all.
